The Irish troops sat in wait for the English troops to near Dublynn. After several days of waiting, dust from a marching army loomed in the distance and the Irish army, under Antóin Ó Longáin, got into positions and prepared for the fight for Ireland's future. As the English marched forward, the Irish launched the attack and began the bloodshed. After hours of fighting, the English General fell in battle and the remaining English troops retreated from the battle.

After the battle, Irish priests put the fallen spirits to rest for both sides and bodies of the dead were collected and buried on the battlefield. Once all bodies were buried and given their last rites, the army continued it's march to Dublynn.
